February project
to begin
I decided to add the February project to my substack as a bonus for paid subscribers, rather than add it to my Teachable site. If you’re an annual subscriber, thank you ever so much for your support. If you just want to sign up for the month and then drop out, that’s fine too. The thing is that I wanted to make it affordable, and if I only charged the equivalent of the monthly substack subscription via my School, then half of it would evaporate in fees and taxes (I bear the cost of local sales taxes at my end to make it fair for students around the world). So you can join the February project for the monthly plan price of AUD $13 which is about $8.50 USD if you like.
Just to refresh, here’s what I wrote that you’ll need in terms of materials ::
You’ll want something to stitch other pieces to…such as an old tea towel or dishcloth, or a pillowcase that has become too worn to be used on a bed. It doesn’t matter if it has stains or holes, as these will be hidden by other cloth. You’ll want needles (the sashiko kind are best) and threads(whatever colours make you happy, dyeing the finished piece will be entirely optional). The rag bag will be your friend; you can choose to work with colour, or wait to add colour at the end. I know that many of you live in wintery regions where finding suitable leaves can be tricky in February, and frankly choosing coloured cloth in a grey month could be good for the spirits. You’ll also need pins or safety pins (I like those nice bent ones that sit flat on the cloth).
