About six months ago I was approached (via email) by a respected elder Australian choreographer/dancer. They explained that they were producing a work for a dance company and that their funds were not abundant but that they were planning to make a film of the work which was to be about a particular landscape…beginning with the trees and concluding with a scene evoking visions of a local waterbody.

They wondered if we could meet to talk about the project. We agreed on a date and a location but almost at the last minute they requested we meet in the city (rather than at the place I had suggested, which would have been easier for me to reach, particularly at the time of day). So at very short notice I negotiate peak hour traffic on roads which at that time were under reconstruction, meaning that a journey that usually takes a little over an hour was stretched out to two hours. And then because they had scheduled another meeting immediately afterward, they needed me to drive them there. Our meeting was already shorter as I was unavoidably late. We agreed however that I would send my concepts via email.
